James Graves (BGS 1971-78)
James Graves died October 2012, aged 52.
Jim was a gifted and eccentric polymath who went on from BGS to read engineering and computer science at Manchester University before running a number of computer businesses in Boston. He finally made his fortune with the eclectic 10,000-page website Zyra, which survives him.
A self-confessed hoarder, Jim emigrated to Panama as a tax exile with 38 tons of baggage in early 2012 and was apparently settling into a large house frequented by bats when he died unexpectedly in October.
Jim’s body has yet to be repatriated. When formalities are complete there will be a memorial service.
